The company is part of the Tornator Timberland group and was established in 2007. As a subsidiary of Finnish Tornator Oyj Tornator Eesti OÜ is a solid and responsible company, whose business activities are based on forestland ownership and sustainable utilising of forest resources. As our ownership is divided in all Estonian counties, we operate in the whole country. In September 2017 we had some 60,000 hectares of forest estates. Our aim is to add the ownership and reach a permanent position and establish long-term activity in Estonian forestry. In our work we also aim both to operational and economical efficiency for example by developing silvicultural methods and GIS- and WEB-applications.
Tornator Oyj owns about 600,000 hectares of forestland, which makes us the third largest forest owner in Finland. Our core business is wood production and the sale of cutting rights. In addition, we sell high-quality waterfront plots and soil resources, and lease rights of access to our land. Besides of Finland and Estonia Tornator is active also in Romania.
The current Tornator in Finland was created in 2002 when Stora Enso divested its forestlands. However, the name Tornator has a long history in Finnish industry. Enso-Gutzeit had acquired a forestry company called Tornator in the 1930s, and the name was resurrected.
Tornator’s largest shareholders are Stora Enso, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, OP Life Assurance Company and Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company.
